Are you a writing enthusiast and have an idea related to Africa? Getting your article published is now easy and rewarding! Ambia Africa would like to share your idea(s) with the continent and the rest of the world. We are now taking written submissions for the “Write for Us” section of our site and we will pay you for your work.
We pay $4 for original and factual articles (for example, “How To”, Tutorials, Things You Didn’t Know About…, Top 10 Things…, The Most…etc) and all newsworthy stories between 250 and 500 words. However, your article must receive at least 150 views within the first 12 hours of publication. Even if it doesn’t, you will still be rewarded for your efforts with $1. Therefore, you owe it to yourself to ensure the article is interesting. Alternatively, you can refer your friends to read and share the article so that it can receive the target views in no time.
As for longer articles (features, interviews, research, and reports among others), we pay $18 as long as it is at least 1200 words and has been approved by our managing editor. However, you need to pitch your idea by emailing the managing editor, Harry Burton, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Even so, we do not guarantee publication until the editor reviews a completed submission.
You will be given a byline, and we consider this as a perfect platform for Journalism and Mass Communication students to not only earn something for their efforts but also showcase their competence to potential employers! However, we reserve the right to reject content that we believe in good faith to be plagiarized or copyrighted material that has been illegally copied (intentionally or otherwise).
All payments are made every Friday via PayPal. However, writers based in Kenya have an option of using mobile phone-based money transfer services, based on the exchange rates for United States Dollar to Kenya Shilling at the time of payment.
On Ambia Africa, anything Africa goes!
